Naomi Hazel Brice Turns Five!!!
John and I surprised Naomi with a visit to Cincinnati on her birthday. She reacted just as we had hoped, with lots of screaming and excitement. Sage also reacted exactly as predicted, by hiding behind Matt's legs for the first hour we were there. She eventually warmed up and really loved playing with us.
Now that Naomi has moved on to "Lightly Row," Sage has picked up the piano action and has learned exactly two notes of "Twinkle." Prodigy? Maybe.
Naomi playing her first two handed piece, "Lightly Row," where both hands are playing different notes and rhythms. Matt is helping Naomi not look at her hands when she plays. Look at her great form.
I love this mother/daughter photo. I love Annie!
This was the world's sturdiest piƱata. I think each child got 2-3 hits before someone finally made a crack. Then Matt took pity on all the kids by tearing it open and shaking it around.
The climbing toy in their backyard was a *huge* hit during the party. The girls are out there all the time.
Some of the 23 kids who were at the party, patiently waiting for their piece of the scary white Halloween cat birthday cake.

Naomi turns 5 and learns to ride a bike
Many more photos to come of Naomi's 5th birthday, but this is a teaser....Naomi got a bike for her birthday and we all took bets as to how long it would take her to learn to ride it. I don't think any of us predicted she'd be up and riding, no training wheels, within 20 minutes of her first hop on the bike. Pretty amazing!
bet you didn't know how tough one person can be

Fall 2011
Lots of things have been happening this Fall.....to begin with, have we mentioned there's a WEDDING coming up? Well, mark December 17 on your calendars! MaryBeth and Matthew are involved in all things wedding and a beautiful bridal shower was hosted by Pat Edwards and Ann Cannon on Saturday afternoon. MaryBeth's parents and sisters were in town and able to attend which was a real treat. Pat focused on traditions and served game day stew and her famous chocolate chip bundt cake. MaryBeth had several friends and roommates come and it was fun to celebrate this exciting event together!
MaryBeth opening a cute black and white polka-dot ceramic baking dish from Cecilee....kitchen color theme is black, silver and accents of red.
Two of MaryBeth's friends and her sister Meeghan. Can you tell who is who? So sad I didn't get more photos at this event, but just picture a darling and delightful Mom, MaryAnn, in this photo as well.
Gentlemen happily relegated to the family room included Mark, a family friend, LaVell, and Mark, MaryBeth's dad.
Jayne taking a bow after the All-State Choir concert at the Tabernacle. A gold star to anyone who can find her. Hint: she is smiling! Mack Wilberg conducted the choir and it was a thrill to hear 750 students singing his arrangement of "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing." Wow!!
Jayne performing with the Dance Company at halftime of the Homecoming football game. Of course WX won and it was a great week of festivities. The back of these sweatshirts has a giant bedazzled WX--so cute!
Jayne ran in the Region XC meet and had her best race of the season. This was her last XC race in all of high school. Kind of sad, kind of happy :)
