Twice as Brice Cuties

Mom, Dad, and I are in NYC right now. We will be here two days and then we're headed to Philadelphia to see Sarah run in the Penn Relays. Today was our first day and while Mom and I went to the fabric store Dad went to the Metropolitan Museum. We met up at and rode the Staten Island Ferry over and back. It was a beautiful day and fun to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from that viewpoint. We came home and played with the girls before going to see the play "Anything Goes" starring Sutton Foster. Can you say F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!!!! After the play we even saw the Obama motorcade. He had been at a play across the street from where we were and the whole block was on lockdown waiting for him to leave. He waved to Mom and me as he sped by. Seriously, he did.

The girls enjoying Grandma Barbara.

Mom and Naomi lacing cards. Notice how long Naomi's hair has gotten since Christmas.

After a little bit Sage warmed up to us all. She was loving being on Dad's lap and getting tickled.

I brought Naomi and Sage 8 pair of sunglasses from Target. They were the biggest hit ever!!!

Sage is #1!! And is 1 (for about four more weeks). That's all from the Big Apple.

Elections and Epic Parties

Following our Spring Break, Bryan headed to Utah for a week for his Spring Break. It was so much fun. He went to Idaho with Gary for a few days and they worked on building a chicken coop at the Johnson's. He went to track practice with Ethan a few days and met all of Ethan's new friends from Millcreek. This got the boys going and before we knew it they had planed an EPIC party. This is how the phone invites went, "Hi, this is Ethan/Bryan, we are having an EPIC party at our house at 7 - come." It must have worked because we had about 35 7th graders running around having a good time. There was food, games, wii, minute-to-win-it, badminton, basketball, rugby, etc... There are great kids this age and they have a lot of fun together.

Bryan was also here for the finishing touches on Ethan's election. This brings us to our next highlight. Ethan is a new 8th grade officer at Millcreek Jr. High. It will be a really fun year for him for sure. His election theme was "Get in the Game" and we're posting pictures of his t-shirts and one of his posters. Hooray for Ethan.

SPRING BREAK FOR THE JOHNSONS

Well, what can we say? We had a great Spring Break. We drove down to San Diego for the Half Ironman on Thursday night. The big race was Saturday, but mid-race, Gary's bike chain broke. He was disqualified and it was heart-breaking. Needless to say, we enjoyed the remainder of the weekend there. We had Bryan and we went to the beach, played basketball, and drove up to L.A. to visit UCLA. It is a beautiful campus. We ate lunch on campus and bought new t-shirts. Hooray. On Sunday we headed back to St. George. The weather was bad, but we had fun with Jayne and Becky. On Thursday we woke up and decided to drive back to San Diego for the day to see Bryan run in his track meet. That was a long drive, but was totally worth it. He did great. All in all, it was a fun Spring Break full of a lot of driving.

Math, the Math Graduate

We had a great two days celebrating Matthew's graduation from BYU. We are so proud of Matthew and all he has accomplished the past four years. He has worked really hard in a very difficult major and we think he's awesome!!! Before the University Commencement we went to the Carl Bloch exhibit at the BYU Museum of Art and then had a hot dog at JDawgs (awesome!). Matthew was excited to participate in all the events, even the Math Department mingle after the College ceremony the second day. That event was a success because we got to see the math lab where Matthew has spent a lot of time and also they served BYU mint brownies. We went to dinner at Tucano's (Matthew's favorite restaurant) with Grandma Pat, Grandpa LaVell, and Grandpa Al. It was delicious, but we really missed Jayne, who was in musical theatre rehearsal, and Grandma Barbara, who was in London. Here's a little recap. xo

A cold and blustery day (with no Piglet sightings) at the Marriott Center.

Three great men.

Matthew spotting.....between K and L, about 10 rows down the K portal and about 6 seats in. Cute, right?

Notice the Y on the mountain....how adorable are these two?

Matthew and some friends who also graduated. Noticeably absent were Brady and Jane Heaps, who also graduated.

Post graduation dinner at Tucanos. They had all the BYU graduates stand up and the waiters sang to them. Matthew loved the song.

Notice the blue and gray striped sweater behind Grandpa and Sarah -- that is The Jimmer!!! We got to meet him, but no big deal, he already knew Sarah by name.
Sarah adding to the beauty of nighttime at Riverwoods....festive!

A family proud of their graduate.

Dylan (Family Life) and Matthew (Mathematics) are the two BYU Edwards family graduates this April. Hooray for the two cousins! Dylan is headed to Eastern Carolina for a M.S. in Family Counseling and Matthew will be starting the M.P.A. program at BYU in August.

The happy look of someone who will never have to take another Analytical Number Theory class.

Admiring family members in the College of Mathematical and Physical Science graduation ceremony in the Ballroom of the WILK.

That's what we are all wondering.....ha ha. Coaching anyone? Add it to the list.

A little sass after the ceremony.

Easter Sunday

For Easter we had dinner and Easter egg hunt. It was delicious and a lot of fun. It was pretty warm so the easter egg hunt was a success. Sunny and Hank both found eggs with money and they probably tied for the most eggs found. I don't want to brag but I Sarah made some pretty good rolls with Jayne. Thanks to grandma who taught Matthew and I a couple of weeks ago. HOPPY EASTER!!

Showing off all the goods

Sunny could not look any cuter with the lack of two front teeth.

It was similar to Christmas morning and we had to line up youngest to oldest and Hank got a 15 second head start.

What cuties.
